Challenge Kids and Teens to Save Their Money with this Free Printable: Teach kids the value of saving their money with this free Kids Savings Challenge Sheet printable. Have kids customize their own savings challenge!

Has this happened to you?

Your son or daughter happens upon some money – either through a gift or allowance – and immediately begins to think about how to spend it.

Should they get that (creepy) big-eye creature they saw last week or perhaps the 500 piece puzzle of a unicorn, half of which you know will end up under the couch?

There’s a moment when you try to urge them to save up for something special – like a bike or Kids Kindle. But your child looks away, clearly not interested in your advice.

Sometimes getting kids to understand the value of saving money can seem like an uphill battle.

How can you convince a young mind that it’s better to hold on to that cash than satisfy immediate “need”?

One way to help kids learn the value of saving is through a savings challenge sheet.

Have your child identify a goal they want to save for and each week they can set aside a certain amount until they reach their goal.

The image below provides an example of how the savings challenge works. Also included in this free printable PDF is a sheet with an empty table so your son or daughter can customize their goals by number of weeks and amount saved each week.

Have fun saving!
